POLICE have issued CCTV stills of a man they wish to speak to following an assault involving a broomstick in Warrington town centre.

The incident occurred more than two months ago, with Cheshire Police now releasing the images in a bid to identify a person.

At around 10.15pm on Friday, October 4, the victim, a 27-year-old man, was with two women in an alleyway at the rear of a restaurant on Bridge Street.

Here, he was hit on the head with a broomstick by an unknown man.

The victim sustained a laceration to his forehead as a result of the incident.

Enquiries in relation to the incident remain ongoing, and as part of the investigation, officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they are looking to speak to.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “As part of our investigation, we are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV images as we believe he may hold important information.

“Anyone who recognises the man is urged to call us on 101, quoting 24000849832, or visit cheshire.police.uk/tell-us

“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV images to get in touch.”
